Snow Emergency Information

Village Code for Snow Emergencies May Be Viewed Here

During a declared Snow Emergency, we remind you that, to the extent possible, all cars must be removed from Village streets to facilitate plowing.  Accordingly, we ask that you please take every step possible to remove your cars from the streets.  If you fail to do so, your car will likely be plowed in and unmovable, and you may be subject to summonses and fines.

We remind landlords that their tenants must be permitted to park in available driveways.

If you live near a fire hydrant, please be sure to to clear snow and ice away from the hydrant.

If you have an elderly or homebound neighbor, please check in with them and assist them as needed.

Also, remember, if you have a sidewalk in front of or adjacent to your home or business, you must remove snow and ice promptly following the storm in order to allow for safe pedestrian travel.

DO NOT push or throw snow into the streets. That is a violation and may subject violators to a fine.

If you have questions or concerns, please call DPW, 516-334-0062, or reach out to me or one of your village trustees.

In the event of a power outage or downed wires, call PSEG Long Island’s Customer Service line at 1-800-490-0075.

Please stay off the streets during this storm event, but I if you have to travel about, please use caution.

BE PREPARED AND BE SAFE.

In the event of an emergency, please do not hesitate to contact 911.
